The Beginning Is The Promise Of The End
Automatic writing exploring birth and death and the little space between.
Approaching 50 this December, so exploring so much of my life. Strange looking back and wondering what it all meant. Really see the successes and failures now; at the time so busy trying to create a creative life to really notice what’s going on, but recently due to poetry, poor health and numerous articles I really see my life from the present: the good, the bad, the indifferent.
This poem captures some of this. I particularly like “Gentle graceful epiphanies and love songs, a wish to make a crystalline mark on the world.” I think that’s been my aim – if it’s been successful or not is another matter!
